B.N missort run scraped

Quality control seems to have taken a dive in the Brighton area. Today the missort run was scraped, but shock horror some offices still turned up at the Lewes Hub to collect the missorts.I wonder what the regulators make of it.

The missort run was scrapped over a year ago at our office. It was deemed a waste of money the van traveling to our office to pick it up when they could just pick our missorts up with mail at the end of the day. The missorts that are for our office just come the next day now I presume.

In some areas the miss sort run was only reintroduced because certain offices began to do the job proper and, this combined with the cuts in staff and hours sent the quality figures into such an alarming nosedive that the auditors and postcon could not pretend not to notice (massive coverage in local print and audio media,hit national too). As a sop (look how hard we are trying) miss sort run was brought back, high profile and expensive but does bugger all to improve the drop in quality caused by cut offs and failures, in short just window dressing. This year figures are in tolerance levels and the miss sort run is putting a check on cuts and savings ,so out it goes, .......and then in 6 months..........

For the past couple of years I've thought that the delay and expense of the missort run isn't justified when it's a very small amount of mail compared to all the walks or part walks that regularly don't go out throgh staff level reductions and leave and sick not being covered.

Waste of f***ing time in my office, most of it is mail for the offices it comes from ie stuff they can't be bothered to do so they chuck it in for the missort run so they can say they have all cleared down and go out the door at half 8.

Who knows , apparently 20 months ago it was the quality silver bullet saviour,seems that now the mis sort run is crap with no proven quality improvements. However when September comes ,and blow me down in a complete shock to a 200 year old mail service,mailing patterns change ,it may well return

I have noticed we're getting fewer and fewer missorts both on the run and in general.
We don't get any in our sequenced at all...the're smart machines them CSS things.

Not really ,its just that in the biggest economic downturn since 1928 ,mail volumes have dropped and your local MC can now process all mail instead of chucking god knows how much out the door willy nilly just to clear the floor

We get all the previous days intra redirections on out missort run because the MC refuse to process them. In fact they refuse to process any intra missorts so any we get after the missort run leaves sit overnight in our DO and wait for the next days missort run
