I`m now the office rep, but I`m not sure quite what I`ve let myself in for. First meeting is tomorrow morning.
Any tips would make me a happy bunny, cheers.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Always remember to fight for what your members as a whole want, even if you don't agree with them. It's a hard thing to do. But it's neccessary.

The meeting was about these phases for the new agreement. Apparently there hadn`t been an area meeting for a while.
I`m not too clued up on these things yet, but apparently the whole conforming to 100 BSI right now is a Royal Mail thing, our branch aren`t agreeing to that.
We had a couple of offices saying they`ve already signed off Phase 1 with 100 BSI, we are waiting for the verdict on that one.
Like I say, to be honest, a lot of this was going over my head, I`m brand spanking new to this.

The only reason I took the role was because I believe I`m doing my bit for the boys in the office. They asked me to do it, lol.
I did have a few trivial questions, but this morning the area rep came round and helped me out, said the same, ask him anything. They kinda neglected the last rep, so here`s hoping they sussed their mistake.
To be honest, I`m kinda running out of relevant stuff to read, already nabbed whatever was in the office. Can anyone suggest the basics that I should read now without waiting for Area to send me it?

Have a good read of the two different types of delayed mail charges, CWU reps need to be prepared for managers to go for the harsher of the two even when the lesser charge is the most appropiate.
