Possible to get Saturday's off full time?

Is it possible to work a normal 5 day week? I play competitive sports and have the chance to play at a higher standard of competition but it would require me to be away for most weekends.

I know it's a long shot, but I was wondering if there was some kind option for this for people who play semi pro sports or who have other commitments.

I assume not considering it's Royal Mail, but I thought I would ask.

It shows it is possible although i would imagine you would need to be quite senior to get your hands on a Mon-Fri.

One of the options for duty structures gives you the possibility of having every other saturday off although I'm not sure if they'll be able to or willing to put it into practice in reality.

Other than that I'd imagine that Royal Mail is your primary employer and that your semi=pro career isn't as important, so, "NO"!

There must be a way around it. Whenever a non league team gets to the 3rd round of the cup you can almost guarentee theres brickies, plumbers and always a few posties in there

So what happens if you where in the Territorial Army, surely they'll be giving some poeple their 1 weekend in 4 off..? Look into it cause there's a woman in our office thats off every Sat - but thats a case of who you know!!!

If you can convince enough part-time staff to move to a permanent Thur,Fri,Sat or Fri,Sat,Mon then i don't see why you can't have Mon-Fri only.

Yes you can,it depends on what duty structures your office take on.
It's not impossible for some of you to have it,altough probably unlikely and again some would say morally wrong.

That's right. There's plenty of us who want more than one Saturday off in six to spend with our beloved family, so how can anyone suggest competative sports are more important than family ? Besides, sport leads to injuries that are likely to adversely affect your attendance at work resulting in important mail like hospital appointments being delayed.
