Paternity leave in new agreement?
Hi. Can anyone tell me whether the new agreement of 2 weeks full paid paternity leave is in place yet? Our baby's due next week and my Union Rep says I am entitled to full pay for both weeks, but spoke to Manager today who says it'll still be 1 week full pay and 1 week statutory. Does anyone know who's right or someone I can contact to get absolute certainty? Thanks in advance

2010 Agreement says
on page 59 -
Family Friendly Policies
Royal Mail and CWU have agreed the need to move towards single status business wide family friendly policies. An increase is agreed in contractual maternity pay from 18 to 26 weeks and an increase in paternity pay from one to two weeks from 1st April 2010.
and Page 63 confirms
April 1st 2010. An increase in paid maternity leave from 18 weeks to 26 weeks and an increase in paid paternity leave from one week to two.
on page 59 -

Pretty sure you'll find it's not full pay for paternity leave.......might be wrong but something I've read or heard somewhere makes me doubt that!

Should be two weeks full pay.
Lad at my place even had it paid back to him for the second week (he'd been off for two weeks in May) when agreement was ratified.

Its definitely two weeks on full pay, just returned to work after having mine.
(Assuming you meet the criteria that is ie. you've been employed for over 26 weeks and you informed dom at least 15 weeks before due birth date etc etc)
