Whats the crack with light mon/tues - GET IT SORTED FFS !!

Thank the USO in it's current form. When they change the law regarding the USO, the monday/tuesday problem could be solved along with no longer the need for lapsing.

That's why I get most of my D2D done over Monday and Tuesday, to even out my weight load for the week, not to mention the extra D2D above the 20% will mean I do not finish rediculously earlier and will get back and de-brief <5 minutes before my contract end time.

Which means later in the week, when I get heavy loads that will go past my contract end time, there can be no questioning of my walk being too easy.

Which means no lapsing and get all the overtime my round needs if I want it, as my walk must have been done some drunk evaluating team if they think its possible to do the indoor/outdoor requirements properly and take my meal relief wihin 4.5 hours per day... Yeah, right!

I reckon my round must have been evaluated on a Monday, as its the only day I'm likely to get round in anything like 3.5 hours, if I take out the minimum D2D requirement...

Ironically,since they cancelled the sunday collections,it's packets that have completely dropped of on Mondays

Likewise, I'll often do about 85% of Door To Doors on Monday and most of the others on Tuesday.

Our week usually goes
Monday - lots of junk, hardly any packets
Tuesday - lots of packets, next to no mail
Wednesday, Thursday & Friday - lots of everything
Saturday - can go either way, might be out the door at 7 oclock some days, still doing ips at 8 on others.

RM don't want to help us here.
said it before they could easily steer some of the mail sort into the beginning of the week .
its not received at random ie granny smith doesnt post it.
big companies deliver it to RM en mass and it sits in the warehouse.

my theory:
RM are worried that with the increase in d2d refusal to do absorption will become the norm.
so their going to keep Mon/Tuesday as absorption day .


dom let slip Friday that at end of school term in few weeks area manager wants more lapsing!

Here's me thinking it was meant to be like that, hence we work less hours mon tues and sat, more on wed thurs and fri.

Surely there must be some way of sorting this massive problem out - maybe they dont want too, who knows

EVERY Monday & Tuesday we have next to nothing , 1 wagon from the MC on Mondays only, and then Tuesday 2 wagons but not much more than the monday - everyone home early by about 2 hrs+, everyone knows this , management, staff etc Porbably 40% call rate on a bad mon/tue

Then Weds/Thur/Fri/Sat we get absolutley nailed and have 4-5 times the amount of the mon&tues, and the thing is its all shite. Surely they can arrange an evener spread of the crap ??

Last week , mon & tue I had nowt on barely, no flats, little mech, few packets - then the rest of the week we get virgin fackin media & sky for every house almost, every week this ,for like 12 months. Big massively overweight catologues, 1 for every 3 houses, making bags incredibly heavy, roughly 95% call rate

In the "good old days" when we worked SUNDAY NIGHTS in MCs mailsort items were often advanced to give DOs a bit more work on what was seen as quiet Mondays & Tuesdays but then some silly barstewards decided "let's take away the Sunday night shift and give the delivery guys& gals a severe hiding WED -SAT (tee hee hee) we are after all a caring sharing employer " .now hands up everyone who voted"YES" for this brilliant deal !!!!!!!!! brilliant deal my dangly bits

nope,we ironically have 15 minutes longer on a Monday and Thursday
thats it
though with many duties in the office,the mon/tue is the only day theres a chance of completing on time
of course the lapsing takes care of that

Today we had letters from the water board for every single house.

Not much else really, hardly any packets, didnt do lapsing and finished just before I was due.

I'd rather there was nothing on a Monday than get a clouting like that.

If I'm right, I think they're allowed to keep mailsort for about 4 or 5 weeks so they could quite easily even it out if they wanted, thing is they don't want to, I find it all a bit pathetic really, overpaid and under worked bosses who act like spoilt kids trying to piss us all off.
