How can I reduce the risk and keep healthy?
Avoid the heat. Stay out of the sun, and plan ahead so you don't go out between 11am and 3pm, the hottest part of the day.
Avoid excessive physical activity, or do it in the cooler ends of the day.

becaue 5+ hours walking at full speed in the sun will take it's physical toll on you, not to mention skin cancer

I think everyone enjoys walking in the sunshine when its at a reasonably temperature. The problems start when you enter the high 20’s and low 30,s which can lead to heat exhaustion. The fact you have to get up and do it day after day increases the fatigue even more.

We're arguing with management at the moment as they keep putting the extraction hose's from the air con units out facing the shop floor. Its ridiculous at the moment. Tis hot enough without putting the heaters on witch is pretty much what they are doing. Reps been making them turn it off till we are all out of the office but the other day they left it on over night so in the morning it was like a sauna.

As for walking in the heat, when you have 9 bags, first one 16kg and the rest 11kg its a real killer. All our mail is at our office by half 6/7am the latest so no reason why they shouldn't let us out earlier on the hotter days.

If you drink beetroot juice (supposedly good for energy levels) it turns pink.
