different walks?

Ok I have been doing this job just over 3 years( feels a lot longer), and I do different walks every week and sometimes every day, My question is how long does this last for?, I am not full time 32.5 hours, is it just the full time staff that get there own walks?, I was told its based on seniority but also full time get priority which is it?. Got to say as far as training goes this is the worst company I have worked for, they seem to only care for the full time staff and treat part timer's as second rate, expendable's.

I have to say your prob right. The thing is in my office the important things to the running of the office get worked out with the dom (and the grabbers) normally first thing (such as covering unexpected sickness etc) and this is before the partimers come in. So if anything is going to change its most likley to be their walks. Aint right but the law of the squeaky wheel getting the oil, or in this case the overtime and an easier walk.

Wouldn't count on it. When there were talks of a repick in my old office, they basically said that whichever walks were left after the F/Ts had picked, would be made into P/T for the rest of us.

They can't do that April.
You have to get your pick in line with your seniority regardless of your contracted hours.
They may be able to limit your selection by asking you to pick from a pot of part-time specific duties but they cannot interfere with the order in which seniority runs so when it's your turn.....you pick.

The delivery element of a duty in most offices is the same but that doesn't mean that all duties are the same.
In some offices you simply pick the walk and the indoor element is made up to suit your hours.
In others the duties are fixed and you pick from either a part-time pot or a full-time pot depending on your hours.

I've been back at RM FT for nearly 7 years and I'm still a reserve and have different walks daily/weekly, so don't hold your breath. Though the P/T's in my office all have there own duties and some have been there less than a year. No walks have gone up on the board for nearly 3 years and we have about 10 vacant duties left since the 0 hour contracts started.

Just in case smelly_cat_lady is looking I'M NOT COMPLAINING but I've been full time for five years and am still a reserve....different round each week and sometimes each day, whereas part timers who have started after me have their own duty.

It's just the way it goes. When full timers leave my office they are replaced with part timers, so I'll always be at the bottm of the seniority list of full timers, and the part timers have their own seniority list.
