As the heatwave is coming ,I think we can all expect Managenent make us leave the office later so we are working in the miday sun and hottest part of the day.

Of course in all RM and cwu propaganda they mention health and safety.Crap!

Extreme weather conditions be it cold or heat RM and the toothless tiger CWU do nothing.

First heat-health alert of the summer from Met Office

Post by krussel »

Highs of up to 31C (87.8F) are expected as temperatures peak across East Anglia and south east England on Friday and Saturday.
But it is not the hot sunshine of the day that people need to be wary of, but the sweltering night time temperatures which pose the most threat.
Head of health forecasting at the Met Office Wayne Elliott said: "While there is the possibility of daytime temperatures reaching trigger thresholds, it is the night time values which are of real concern. High humidity and the lack of any breeze could make matters worse for people with underlying health problems."
The next few days will see varied weather across the UK, with some places having unsettled conditions and temperatures only reaching the low 20s.
Chief forecaster at the Met Office Frank Saunders added: "There is a 60% chance of some places in East Anglia and south east England reaching 32C but it is important to note that it won't be hot everywhere. Cloud and some rain are expected for a time over northern regions of the UK."

The NHS advises to keep cool by wearing loose cotton clothes, spraying or splashing faces and the backs of necks with cold water several times a day and staying in the coolest rooms of the home as much as possible. :left: :left: :left: And we will be absorbing in the hottest part of the day :arrrghhh

Windows should be kept closed when the room is cooler than it is outside.
The elderly and babies and young children are the most at risk during hot weather spells, so should be regularly checked to make sure they are not suffering.
The highest temperature reached so far this year was 30.9C (87.6F) in Gravesend, Kent, on June 27.

I'll try and get out earlier tommorow then, can be hard when you come in at 9 and your fitting is nowhere near complete, but I can hope.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Time to invite our chairman and senior management to come out and deliver mail on these days so
that they can see for themselves how bad it is. Stay in the shade, plenty of rests with drink and then claim OT :left:
Dom will be fine with that, I'm sure

Sorry boys and girls but there is nothing you can do about the weather, be it hot or cold. Do your best to stay cool and don't over exert yourself, your health is worth more than your job. Seems awful to say this but nothing is going to change until someone dies out there. Sad but true. Mind you, even then the heartless bar stewards will be asking what type of footwear you had on

Perhaps we could use this thread to share our tips for coping with the heat? Personally I wear a floppy pink hat which I regularly soak under any outside tap I pass. The water evaporates eventually but it don't half keep your neck cool. Aaaaaah!

One good for reason for that
While Saudi Arabia has a postal system, there are no postmen. It is therefore necessary to have a personal PO Box number.

Teebs, I thought that was a joke but it's not  maybe it would be best to delete any evidence of it for fear that esteemed 'leaders' get any more bright ideas about efficiency
