PROFIT for 2010/2011 & Beyond!!!!!!

Can't mind exactly the profit last year... £404 million this year. Now with a bare minium payment for D2D's + the increase in the weekly limit and All Year lapsing in many office's across the Country - RM will be raking it in like a Top Class Hoe.. So i reckon 2010/11 Annual Profit will be nearing the £600 million mark.. Anybody else like to have a guess???

If the pension problem is sorted out i reckon £1 BILLION. Correct me if i'm wrong but the £404 million is already minus the extra payments towards the pension deficit, so in effect the profit should be close to a BILLION already.

you have to factor in what percentage the managers are getting as a cut of the savings.
i read somewhere that they were getting 10% ?

does anybody have any inside knowledge - it's not as if the managers are going to come out and admit it are they?

With the closure of so many mailcentres in the next year or two, the sale of prime real estate, and the loss of thousands of staff, the new owners of RM will be rolling in it. Be some hefty bonuses flying around the board room!

They will claim an operating loss blaming the pension deficit, fall in volumes and repayment of 'shareholder' loan to come back next year for even more savage cuts.

Strikes There won't be any strikes, the CWU has signed within the agreement what is tantamount to a no strike clause, privatisation is just around the corner and the Tories won't be for turning.

As for profit? It will be immaterial to the general workforce: you've been told what your pay rise will be for the next two years.

Of course if it is the profit share scheme a la John Lewis, you can bet your backside there won't be a lot to share out.

And when the full-time release freeloaders start to feel that their lives of Riley may be under threat.
As for front-line staff suffering under the changes agreed by the nerds in both the RM boardroom, and the CWU top table, NO CHANCE.

I cannot absolve the CWU of blame, it was the CWU that hijacked our strikes, it was the CWU that negotiated away yet more of our rights and privileges, and it was the CWU that then presented a deal that would have tested the already tried patience of even the most saintliest man ever to stand on a picket line.
Of course, those that were against the deal, yet, did not bother to vote, are partly to blame.
The overall, vast majority of, blame......Lies entirely with the CWU for coming away from prolonged negotiations, having seen their membership make huge financial sacrifices through striking, with the utterly appalling 2010 & beyond pile of crap which benefited very few, and is nothing short of a huge step backwards for the many, and not the first step backwards, but just one of many negotiated by those jerks in the CWU over the last decade.
