all walks should be the same span,all i can think of he means that if you want full time they will do this by increasing the walk and have a ft job without doing ips like the other ft staff
All walks in an office should be roughly equal. We know that is not the case, but to add more onto a walk just because it is being done by a part timer would be discrimination and I'd be putting a grievance in.
Coz.....P/Timers have more in door work done for them....thats whats happens in our office.....not that there should be P/T walks, the job should be all fulltime..........
Official last letter time was 2pm for urban and 3pm for rurals - The majority of part time stuff do overtime and as a result of this you will be given more to do cos they know you will do it, simple!
I know its a crap way to work but Royal Mail are now exploiting people who do overtime on a regular basis, they are holding back full time wages and jobs because of it, until this stops then there is no need for the company to introduce anymore full time staff.

But with Van Shares this is STILL going on. How can two people share a van, start the delivery together, share two deliveries in bursts and have two different finishing times when, in theory, they finish together when the job is complete.
For example on Wednesday we finished at 1PM, my finish time, my buddy's finish time is 2.45. Seems someone has been paid 1.45 for nothing whereas I get sweet FA extra.

You will find their walks are 3 and half hours long as well, they work an eight hour day, first 3 hr 50 sorting mail for delivery including yours, 40 min break then 3 hr 30 on delivery, roughly theres bits and pieces taken off here and there, travel time pouching off etc, basically its the 3 hr 40 before they go out that is causing your issue, if they are sorted early then they are getting out the door early and thus finished early, they are still doing as much outdoor work roughly just finishing their indoor work quicker than they have been given, so thats why they are finishing early, an advantage of being fulltime unfortunately part timers dont have much indoor time.

I am a part timer and nothing is done for me by a full timer. Full timers come in 1 hour before me to sort out the ISP, we all leave the office together and we all finish approximately the same time. Saturdays is different, we all start at 5am, out at same time and finish same time!!!!!!!!
Wimpdet......what hours are you on....if your 25 to 30 hours ....indoor preping of your walk should be done by full timers until you arrive in and then you carry on....

In my office, 30 hour part timers prep all their own walk, 25 hours, have it mostly prepped. That is what is meant to happen, but now with lapsing, they are mostly prepped every day. Except Monday and Saturday (the only days we don't lapse). Strange that.
