This is my issue - When our office was a 5am start, we all worked the same hours, but then we started at 6am, us posties work 40hrs aweek but phg work 1hr a day less as the callers stilled closed at the same time and when we start at 7 phg will work 2 hrs aday less. They also get d-d allowance and don't deliver any. We have also started longer opening hours on a wed and sat, phg take it turns to do this on o/t along with posties on a rotation basis again on o/t. phg have got it cushy, phg o/t is 1 in 3 , posties o/t 1 in about 10. This clearly needs looking at and made fair.

Its strange your ex PHG’s work an hour less each day. Our locker /counter staff start at 6am Mon-Fri and at 5am on Sat's (1hr OT). They finish at 2.20pm weekdays and 12.30pm on sat, the counter stays open till 6.30pm weekdays. They always work thier full hours.

I see what your saying but I am sure your indoor staff would equally argue that Posties are making exta time every day as well.

Phgs get away with murder in many offices, they should absorb a bit of the walk outside the office me thinks, they are good at dragging their feet and taking the piss out of posties. the managers are even bigger dickheads letting them away with it, this is because they do a bit of the mangers work from time to time I e. getting driving duties covered and fiddling the balance. they say Royal Mail cannot touch them because they are better than the posties.
come on you managers on here get these phg tossers flagged up at your next chocolate biscuit and coffee meeting .
They get £20.60 and are laughing their stones off.

Both RLE duty holders in my D.O were not with RML when RML abolished the PHG grade, PHGs from back then are delivery posties and another is a DOM at another D.O in the cluster.

I used to work in the RLE and I wasn't sleeping with the boss?! <shudders at the thought>

And I wasn't in there for options a or c either. Must've been b then.

I always worked my hours (and more), rarely got to take my break and put up with all the sh*te because some of the posties didn't do their job properly.

No - I was sleeping with the boss, but that ended when the wrinkles overtook the inches, 9 inch 1 wrinkle and now 1 inch and 9 wrinkles.

My PHG has his break between 1030-1110, and still leaves the office at 1pm but is paid until 13.55.

Well it works because his line manager allows it and he knows he can get away with it - maybe they should look at making the duty part time and putting the saved hours into delivery - perhaps you should suggest it.
