sick days/ hospital appointment days

Post by chris1981 »

Hi I was wondering if somebody may be able to answer a question for me. Is there a difference between having a day off sick and taking a day off for a hospital appointment? Im just a little concerned about having too much time off for appointments and whether they would count against me.
Thanks in advance :-)

It depends how you booked the time off

if you booked as sick leave then it will show on your absence/sick record and does count towards a stage warning.
If you got granted special leave A you will get paid for the day, it will show on your absence/sick record but does not count towards a stage warning
If you took the day as special leave C you don't get paid, it will show on your absence/sick record but does not count towards a stage warning.

Thanks for the replies. The ones I have had so far I was told I could go to by managers and I got paid. Not sure how they went through the system. Luckily my day off has been arranged for the next one. I was just wondering for any future appointments I may need. Thanks you again.
