walk speeds

can anyone confirm the new walk speeds being used by geo-route,management put up a list at wtl and it seems to me not much has change from the old pegasus speeds,they have up on the board that a walk on the flat is 4.0 mph,with lwt 3.8 mph, are they right ?

Panorama 2009 - Think the new Walk Speed is just to ' walk that bit faster than a Marine ' who's at an advantage by not carrying a bag over the shoulder...

Noone to cover my day off last week so one of the managers from another office had to do part of it. I saw him out on the round, he must have been doin the RM walk

, was walkin that fast it was just short of a jog. Or probably was as quick as a jog, he looked a right prat

tryin to walk as fast as he can without running

Think he was part timing my round since i always complain about it. Pity that wouldnt be right since he left over a box of mail and didnt bother with the D2D, when id left a note of which roads had to be done for them as well. No hi-vis jacket.

one guy at our office enjoys doing his walk as fast as possible, he broke his ankle at christmas because as a result of rushing and yet still finished his delivery, what a hero. he did get a stage one for his trouble and now has the hardest delivery in the office. like my granny used to say some people are too numb to know they're numb.

How on earth can anybody get a stage 1 after having a fall and breaking their ankle while on delivery?

i got a stage one for falling on delivery, apparently it being an accident is no defence, in fact its standard practice in our office, are we the only one?

it's not a constant 4mph you can't walk and be standing at someone door with a packet at the same time. but they do expect you to be walking at 4mph when walking. they got there figure of 2.4mph by averaging out all the time where you have to be stationary to do your job by their procedures.

I think it's more likely thet the CWU will start calculating things this way than the walk speed coming down significantly.
