do we have to wear high vis vests all the time when on delivery or just when we are on our bikes? because i am cooking keeping mine on all the time in this weather

AFAIK we only have to wear them when we are out on the loading bay at the DO. I certinaly don't wear mine when I'm walking round in this weather, unless it starts pissing down with rain.

This is pretty much what i do. I also wear mine driving the van out to the delivery and for the first couple of roads as there is no foot paths. Its way too hot to wear them all the way round so i'd take a chance on that.

would have made far more sense to add hi viz piping to all uniform
then everyone has hi viz regardless of conditions or duty

No. The Hi-Vizs don't last as long as a coat. The strips start to come off after a few months of washing them regularly. But the coats usually last me a couple of years. Sometimes a little longer.

You dont even have to wash them for the reflective part to wear off as ive found the bag rubbing does that.

I have running gear thats years old and still has its high viz piping in place
its all about paying for proper quality
surely staff safety is worth that?

Never mock the hi-viz vests.

I was wearing mine on delivery and got caught up in an armed robbery. In the crossfire between the good guys and the bad guys I got shot three times, but my hi-viz vest saved me. The bullets just bounced off.

What a wonderful invention. Good on Royal Mail for making us wear them, they save our lives.

High Viz's are discriminatory for people of small stature and an embarrassment for me !!.

Now it is a top shelf magazine I have to rummage through the porn on tiptoes just to find my fix of Fat Slags and Roger Mellie and Terry F***wit!!!.

We have a notice by the door stating that hi viz vests must be worn beyond this point... beyond that point it the outside world which includes my round so I wear mine at all times. Sometimes I wear two... one over my fleece, one over my shirt.

Besides, it's PPE and you know how they like to try and blame you for everything because you weren't wearing PPE regardless of whether it had anything to do with the PPE.
