D2D - The real postcode lottery

explain to me the fairness in this???

im a part-timer currently on a 29 hour contract, ever since the delivery payment got introduced ( think thats 3 or 4 weeks now) ive had a total of around 10 door to doors on around a 600 call walk, the two guys on the either side of me ( on 20 hour contracts) also on the same postcode.. ive had the same 10 door to doors on there 600 call walks....... the guys behind me, different postcode.. all full-timers... all on walks with callrates less than 500.... all on the flat... have had .. wait for it ... 2!!! .. and yet financially the fulltimers have scooped far more monies in total this month.... this leads me to conclude that

1. THE PART TIMERS ARE SHAFTED AGAIN!

when i explain this to my full time collegues . the usual reply is " so,.... get a new job then" ... says it all really... the reply i always find that really gets to them is the idea of followin the pro-rata argument straight through. PART TIMERS TO TAKE OUT 75% OF A WALK!!!!

No, you get paid for the contracted hours you do, not the hours you might actually do.

As mentioned before,as a full timer if i do my rest days or extra docket (They should be so lucky) i do not get any extra supplement either.

I think he means over 4 weeks, can you imagine prepping 10 lot of door to doors lol.

Tbh yes,i get paid 40hrs i work 40hrs,some part of it is hard some of it is easy.

It's just a bit of a scary thought to be honest.
Workload doesn't matter only work hours.
I think i might just be dreading these agreed performance standards...that's all.

Your post raises 2 questions which I will offer my view on.

Q1. How much do we get paid to do D2Ds -

Answer: Part Timers £0.00 & Full Timers £0.00. The Supplement is not a payment for doing D2Ds its an allowance for working in the Deliveries Function.


Q2. Is the Delivery Supplement fair.

Answer: No.

We have to try and change the CWUs approach/belief that it is fair, but we cannot do that until everyone realises we don't get paid to do D2D now as in the mystical land of HQ D2D is now included in workload and time should be available for it. Meanwhile in the real world, no more time has been added, managers are saying "well you did it before", and they still want lapsing at the same levels. Once again reality and theory fail to gel, but is that a surprise.

The idea behind D2D into workload and receiving a delivery supplement instead, is fair in principle. But in practice the spread of eligibility and the fact that the highest earners, and therefore most efficient officers, in regards to D2D are not suitably recompensed is where IMHO the CWU failed and why I voted NO to 2010.

As mentioned by me earlier that's because you will get the maximum you can if you reach 40hrs. I was not suggesting part timers get more if they, god forbid, do more than 40. Just the SAME, what's so wrong with that.

Well I wouldn't want to put words into anyones mouth but it could be he means it's bloody fortunate for some that they do get paid for the hours contracted and NOT the work they do.............................. perhaps that could be the magic formula for a return to equality - build in a terrain/property/distance/drop worksheet and pay accordingly

I DON'T like this DS,but it's here and yes of course it's not fair and unfair.

Eventually it is 'supposed' to go into our wages,what could happen then is part timers could be on a higher hourly rate than the fulltimers if they got the full DS.

How would that work?

Workload has never mattered,how many of you on a smaller walk have asked for a pay cut to give those on a bigger walk a pay rise?
