39hr week?

Does anyone really think their workload will be reduced to reflect the "shorter working week" so deftly negotiated by the CWU?

Or will it be a reduction in name only. Same work. ?

i think it will be a shorter day on mon-tues same work...............well more with D2D in the work load, and the laspsing.
With no time is being added for D2D in the work load so what chance of a real shorter week.
it should be that we get an hours overtime a week till revisions are done, did that not happen when we moved from 43 hours to 41 1/2 and then from 41 1/2 down to 40.................

i was under the impression the reduction in hours was in two parts, 1 when we got walk sequencing in and the rest upon completion of new delivery spec.

The thing is we are due walk sequencing in 6 weeks and they have no plans to reduce time, they have said that it gets reduced in just one block when everything is done. Can anyone clarify please.

Dont get overexcited, when it is introduced, it will be a reduction of 12mins a day over a 5 day week which will mean starting 12 mins later. Theory is that when walk sequenced mail arrives it will be quicker to prep thus saving x minutes. Thats what I understand, would be interested if senior union officials know different.

If you have recently had a revision (post agreement) then yes you should be on the 39 hour week - If you had a WSM revision before ratification then you should be pushing for a new revision taking into account the D2D, call rate, and BSI changes that have happened since, I think this would then entitle you to the 39 hour week.

Another tack, one that I would not recommend in any way, is to accept the revision you already have, not incorporating the changes and see if the CWU and RM will push for a reduction in your working week.

I thought the same thing when they dropped us from 41.5 hours to 40.

Postal, same at our office, could even be the same office. Tosspot DSM said no £1000 bonus as we had not hit targets. So the agreement is now officially even shitter.

I would suggest HQ clairfy how D.O/MC's that allready have sequnced mail get their £1000.

A simple LTB followed up be nesscary enforcement action should suffice.

Apparently by reaching impossible targets. Shafted again, why we are not out striking I do not know. So word of warning, if you do shared vans, have wsm and 500 d2ds you still will not be rewarded

i am absolutely pissed off with this lot could be worse we could have a weak knee union to pay 3 quid
a week to for a part time job of 25 hours or less watch this space.
