On RMC somewhere i've seen a chart for how to work out how much extra prep you need for your d2d's going into workload, cant seem to find it can someone help please.

There has been a lot of confusion on this but a 500 walk with 3 contracts should have approx 15 mins prep time Mon to Fri rising to 18 mins on Bank holiday weeks. This is worked out at 75 BSI rate and not 100 as this is not sustanable over a whole shift. If u get more than 3 contracts, as this will change to 4 after 12th July , add on another 5 mins per contract.

It was four from June, five from july and six from Jan 2011

2. D2D sales are expected to ramp up as follows: 4 items from 7 June, 5 items from 12th July (to be confirmed) 6 items from 3rd January 2011 and thereafter greater volumes as delivery methods roll out continues and D2D automation comes on stream. The 75% bsi has not been agreed so how is it being worked out at that rate?? Thanks

4 Lots from as soon as possible after ratification of the 2010 Deal.

5 Lots from 12 July 2010

6 Lots (& more when practicable) from Jan 2011.

Just to let you know the trials in the North East and Scotland area have shown a definite intrest in day specific door to door. Royal Mail have done a wide scope of this new product and there is a big intrest in many areas in particular in the London area.

No offence dingo but i not exactly thrilled at the prospect of day specific D2D.
Some offices are struggling to get recognition for an extra 16% into workload.....i have no idea how they will manage with 100%.

Day specific means that a certain door to door has to go out on a certain day. Surely is doesn't mean that every house on the walk will get one on that day?

Will it be so many houses on a specific walk have to have them, will they specify which houses, or will they say 'walk 22, 55 houses, this leaflet on Wednesday',
and ' walk 33 this leaflet for 68 houses on Friday' ?

If you can choose which houses, then thats not so bad, you could just do houses that you are going to anyway.

They'd be interested for exactly the same reason that they currently use 3rd Class Deferred: To coincide with an advert or event. Then the two will work together. And D2D is probably cheaper than Deferred.

I understand why advertisers would be interested in day specific D2D,just not why they would only want 50-60 doors covered.
That would more likely be a targeted addressed campaign.
