mine expires in august.just received a reminder from the DVLA.photo licences only last 10 years.need to get new photos done and then send payment of £20 for a new card.more ways to make money from us..

I lost my licence in 2000 or i wouldnt be on a photo one

I only passed my test in 1999 so I had no choice but to get a photo one.

Mine expired last Jan, sent it off with a few days to spare and it came back with a date that was a week after the last one expired... I figure if I carry on doing that every 10 years, I'll be renewing it when my 65th birthday hits so I might not be bothered about driving then.

I despise the DVLA though, money grabbing gits. PLUS, there's absolutely NO arguing with them. I used to work at a car dealership and sent off the yellow part of the V5 to say that the vehicle was now on trader's premises. They used to send us fines for some of the vehicles claiming we'd never told them. They sent us fines for some of the vehicles and not the others when they were all sent off in the same envelope. They told me to prove I'd posted it to them. How the feck am I meant to PROVE something is in an envelope?! I can PROVE I sent them an envelope, I can't PROVE what was inside it can I!? Eejits.

Thanks for that I never knew they only lasted ten years my one runs out next year, £20 what a con.
