Seniority,seems to work well,99% of the time we all get our 1st choice.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

3 rotas of seven and you move up a place each year, top man picks 2 weeks summer, then hands to next on list, then once he has his turn again picks one week and so on till all leave picked, i was sure seniority was scrapped for annual leave

Seniority was in the way forward,but it seems to have been forgotten at my place.

Everyone applied for the leave they want and if all slots are full 90% of the time people move their dates of their own accord. If there is still an over-subscription then its based on Seniority and Juniority in a cycle.

i couldnt agree more but we was told about 7 years ago you carnt go on seniority now by law

We have rotas last in goes at the bottom and every year you name goes up till you have 1st choice of 2 weeks then goes round the list till back for your next 2 etc seems fair enough to us.
