Managers Spying Outside.

Has anybody else had this problem in their office. Managers are going out in cars spying on posties in their own cars, on Saturday in my office I seen two of the managers on a walk near by me spying on this guy. I think that’s discrimination, they are always picking on this lad because he has lot to say in the office.
I know one thing, Managers do read on here, so if your reading Mangers, its only a matter of time before your up the road yourselves even though you creep up the bigger bosses bottoms.
Obviously the managers has not enough work to do in the office when they are out and about spying. They make me sick, trying to sack some poor lad or girl who has to earn a living…
Be on your guard out there folks and tomorrow clock your managers car registration and if you do see them on your walk highlight it in front of your colleagues.

As far as i am aware if managers do out in a private car they have to advitise the fact in advance giving the number and make of the car, i could be wrong though, someone in the know will correct me i'm sure.

From when I started in the 70`s there was always managers who were patrol officers, who went out to see where you are. Most would come up to you and ask if everything ok and any problems. If you are where you should be and doing the job right , then there was no problem

Your manager should only be doing patrols in a Royal Mail vehicle and NOT in his own car. Phone the police next time and say someone's spying on you and is planning to steal the mail !!!

Nah ,they dont have to tell you anything. Why would they warn you ??

because there are rules about being open, should watch you in a marked RM van, if in a private car it needs to be open and honest, i'm sure i've been told this in the past, as i said i may be wrong.

Are they covered by the RM Bond, for doing these patrols?
If not, they may not be insured. In which case, phoning the Police could get them in a whole lot of trouble. Not that I'd suggest you deliberately get them 6 points on their licence...... Or would I?

If your DOM is going to "spy" on posties he has to inform them that at some point in there delivery he will be out and about if not tell him to go jump.

If he suspects any thieving is being done that is the IBS job and test letters would be sent out on that delivery accordingly.

Simple solution just ring the local police and inform them that there is a suspicious charachter watching you deliver and
you are concerned that you might be robbed or assaulted, also ring your delivery office and inform them that you have called the cops
due to your safety concerns.
i bet he won't follow you about after he's been pulled by them, but if he persists inform him that you will report his activities to the authorities
each and every time.

You must live in a nice area if the police actually turn up if you phone them.
Is it a Dixon of Dock Green character who turns up?
The police here only turn out if supported by an ARU.
