Royal Mail and further learning

Hey all,
Some time ago now I remember being told at the induction today that for people who were interested the Royal Mail offered ways you could go back to college or do some sort of college courses while being employed by the Royal Mail and at the time I thought what a great idea its something i'd defiently be interested in.But since then I can find absolute zilch about it can anyone point me in the right direction to where at least I can find out any info like even if its possible!

Can't think of anything like that, though RM apprentices probably get release for courses.
The only other thing might be 'Career Breaks' to go to Uni or college.
You need to have been employed by RM for at least 2 years, and if you do go, you are expected to
return to work for RM at least two weeks every year. There's something about it in 'Downloads'.

I remember this, was it not NVQ's or something

I did ask about it but was told it was for the new starters only My DOM (at the time) did say it was going to be introduced for longer serving posties at a later date, i never heard anymore

There are further learning courses in the Workplace Learning Centres - usually based in MCs
but I think they are open to Delivery Posties - ours is.

Ah perhaps you stumbled upon RMs devious plan - 2007P&M was really a smokescreen to try and makes us all too tired to read the 2010&Beyond so we would not understand or vote on it and so it would be let through on a nod.
