Function Lump Sum......:(

OK people PAY SLIPS
I think almost everyone in deliveries got the 'Fuction Lump Sum' bonus last week (FT £75 pro rata) Sheffield Area??
Then, this week a deduction of £25 was missing from wages AND £25 every week until the lump sum is repaid (pro rata)

What the hell is going on, no mention of this from management, no letter from RM, no messages on any pay slips
No communication at all from anyone, exept that this bonus payment was for indoor staff only.
Then why pay it to everyone and keep quiet about the massive mistake and force everyone into a difficult financial situation

As an ex pay clerk in the forces - It has.

Its been taken off the Gross Pay (before tax) not the Net Pay (where tax is) therefore it has been taken off before the Tax burden was applied.

In essence by taking it off Gross pay they are also refunding the tax you overpaid by taxing you on a lesser amount.

In simple English if its in the first column (it was) it has not been taxed only the total taxable pay at the bottom of the column is taxed.
