Appeals procedure.

Just wondering if anyone knows if you still get paid while waiting on an appeal date,i've recently been dismissed & lodged an appeall..any idea how long the appeal takes to come through,i'm unfortunatly a non union member so feel i have been singled out as an easy target,difficult dealing with this on my own with no union backing...has too be done though.

If so and you win your appeal
then you get backdated wages(supposedly)

after your finish date you do not get paid. Ideal scenairno is you get your appeal before you finish date. But with some many people losing their rtu then Rm appeals managers are snowed under. Also watch the three month tribunal deadline if approiate.

Appeals can take a long time so go and sign on or look for another job.
Your appeal date could be fairly soon after you dismissal but the result will take much longer.
You will not be paid after you have been dismissed.
I don't know what you have been dismissed for but it is up to you to find fault in the way royal mail conducted the investigation that led to your dismissal and also give reasons why you should have not been dismissed, this has to be given to the appeal manager.
The appeal manager will re-investigate the case and his investigation will be guided by the faults that you have given hm.
You have to build your own case so it is up to you.
If you feel you have been wrongly dismissed fill in an ET1 form and apply for an employment tribunal.
This whole proceedure will take a lot of effort on your behalf so be prepared to work at a little.
However not knowing the reason for your dismissal I cant really help you further.

Thanks for turning off the Caps

1. No after dismissal you will not be paid.

2. Appeal time scale seems to vary we had members on here report a few weeks on some cases to longer. In one case a member has been suspended for a year.

3. On the appeal side dont wait for RM start the process needed for an ET straight away.
