question about cdv,who has to drive them??

Ive saw a few different answers to this on here ,
But is anyone sure who is really going to have to drive these cdv's
Ive heard it said existing drivers will have to,but is that someone who has drove for them any time in the last twenty or so years?or driving a present?
I myself really dont ever want to drive a royal mail vechicle ever again,due to the pressure i find it causes me.
I put the letter in to resign from driving and was threatend with suspension and told there was no job for me if i refuse to drive.
We are getting the van sharing in our office in arround 3months time.
So what can i do to stop them from forcing me to drive against my will?
I never had a licence when i started the job ,so could this make me exempt.
What are the union doing about this as i can see this problem arrising in most offices

If there are 2 people in the van then it'll be up to both to take turns at driving (at least that's how it works in my office), I can't see RM accepting that you find the driving stressful as a reason for you to not drive for them, unless you lose you licence then you will have to drive.

Put your notice in that will stop them being totally unreasonable.
Ask you to drive really! What we have to put up with.
I could be wrong but I imagine the pressure of driving a CDV with a partner will be totally different from the pressures of driving van on own with staff drops,bag drops,specials,timed drops and packets if it was these things that cause stress.
Both people in van will be responsible for the work being done and it will only be your own workload you will not be responsible for anybody elses.
I think some people are really going over the top with scare stories over CDV.

There are at least nine or ten,that i know of who have signed off the driving for similar reasons.

Doesnt really seem fair that some will be forced to drive and others left alone

Well going from a three hour walking span to possibly 6hours uncapped delivery with some nervo in a van
scares the s**t out of me.

Although i think 5 to 5 and a half hours will be what they are looking for on a 10hr day but 6 hrs is possible.

Not quite so scary considering all those that allready do 4.5-5 hour deliveries now apparantly with the weight on their back.
If 5-6 hour deliveries are to be the norm for a 10 hour day and that doesn't appeal to you,simple stick to a 5 day week.
