If the WSM is in the delivery office then the first pick goes to the indivuduals within that office and then to the satellite offices.

However if it is in the mail centre then the processing guidelines kick in.

They've just done the interviews for jobs on our new WSM which are being fitted at the moment. They needed 20 staff, 15 from the MC and only 5 from deliveries. Oh and they were all done on seniority!

Yup it's a joke, iv'e had to take a £15 pay cut on deliverys but machine workers are not only going to get thier £21.20 but if thier machine is in an office that also has deliverys they are gonna get the £20.60 delivery suplement aswell

The Royal mail cost cutting is a foretaste of what will happen to other public sector companies will do.

Some of you need to read the national agreement , it says everyone tagged to the delivery office gets the supplement. So Royal Mail`s refusal to pay the £20.60 is wrong and hopefully will be reversed.

Why ? Well the volunters for WSMs come first and foremost from the MPU ( the site where the sequencing machine is based ) and then the offices near by normally the satillite offices.

So when Royal Mail did the original calculations to arrive at the £20.60 payment and pro rata they included these indivduals and therefore by now not paying them then they are not paying the full money from D2D and the ES1 & 2 going.

The £20.60 has nothing to do with TPM or MTSF it is a permanent addition to basic pay which should be paid to all postman and women attached to the delivery unit , pro rata to part timers.

Now anyone arguing against this simply are not trade unionists , the WSM operators are not the enemy they are postman and women who have decided they want to work nights operating the machines.

So when our MC with the DO attached gets pulled down and the new MC and DO are separated, will the WSM operators going to the MC still get paid the delivery allowance even though they are not attached to a delivery office anymore?
