One In Four Saturdays Off

If Saturdays are to be as busy as all other days, and RM aren't going to employ loads of Saturday only staff, how can we have one in four Saturdays off if we're not also going to have one in four Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays off, in which case we would be working three days a week, which would bring us full timers up to 13 hours 20 minutes a day, which would be impossible with later starts and finishing deliveries by 2pm town and 3pm rural ? :shock: or am I missing something ? :shock:

To get thurs/fri/sat/mon/tues/weds off you will work 9 days solid then have six off either based on an 8hr-40 day or 8hr-45day

I am just wondering are there any offices across the country that are getting the 1 in 4 Saturdays off at the moment. Is it me or did the agreement not mention that this was to happen during the roll out of the new national agreement.
What parts of the agreement that Royal Mail have implemented thus far have any benefit for us posties.

They way i see it happening would be for 5 duties to cover 1 off. This would be achieved by absorbtion with you taking a 5th and thus work till 2pm :hmmmm

Very true, in fact the other week in a wtll session when we were told the new system for the d2ds, we were told that this is being rushed through so we could identify any problems early on, so i asked if the 1 in 4 sats would be rushed through for the same reasons . Give you three guesses what you think the answer was, answers on a postcard to either Mr Hayes or his mate Mr Ward

Isn't one of the options every second saturday off. Stampede for applicats to work saturday and monday.

the greedy mob will work sats and mondays, and every other off day :arrrghhh

you can bet people all over would vote for a 4 day week, then work their 2 days off.

ive heard theres an office in glasgow already implemented a new duty structure, and theyve reverted to the old 6 day week!

6 1/2 hour day :nervous

Sorry I think you misunderstood it

a direct quote (page 25) is below and it would seem to me that the 1 - 4 Saturdays off will be rolled out during the plan, not immediately. I am guessing that means as the revisions take place, then the 1-4 will kick in.
Royal Mail and CWU commit to achieving at least 1 in 4 Saturdays off for the majority of employees (including reserves) during the roll out of the operational transformation programme.

Is there anything official with how the 1 in 4 is actually going to be done?
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
