part time post duties

hello ..can anyone one tell me, what a part time ( 24 hours a week ) postmans duties actually are supposed to be. .are we supposed to go in ..and the walk be ready and parcels on the frame. redirections done ..bundle up and go ??. ..this is what i have been told by a few people ..but in theory it very rarely happens .and i end up have to sort out bags of parcels ..and do loads of redirections ( and now door 2 doors on occasions ) before i can even think of bundling up.

Yes, in the main you should have your walked prepped up. take it you are new to the job, if you are being taken advantage of,either see the union, or ask management to confirm what your duties should be. good luck.

I am on 25hr contract, i believe you should just come in bag up and go but like you mine is rarely good to go when i get in but it is not a problem as you should just see the manager and inform him that if you go over due to your round not being ready you will be claiming overtime or if you do not wish to do it tell him you need to finish on time whether you have finished your round or not. I do not have a problem with redirections/chucking d2d in as long as it can be done within my 5 hours. Make sure you take your break although i believe you should take it before you go out which would mean i would not get out till 1030 so i have 10 mins before i go out and 20 mins when i get back.
