I know that the mail centre staff were on strike today, because all north wales managers were called in to work over night in chester last night. I also know that Delivery staff are on strike on Saturday, but which unit's on strike tomorrow (Friday)?

• MDECs – duties, Scheduled Attendance and overtime commencing at or after 12 noon Thursday 26th July 2007 until 12 noon Friday 27th July 2007.

• International/HWDC – duties, Scheduled Attendance and overtime commencing at or after 12 noon Friday 27th July 2007 until 12 noon Saturday 28th July 2007.

• Deliveries and Separate Collection Hubs - duties, Scheduled Attendance and overtime commencing at or after 19.00 Friday 27th July 2007 until 19.00 Saturday 28th July 2007.

Week 2

• Airports – duties, Scheduled Attendance and overtime commencing at or after 12 noon Monday 30th July 2007 until 12 noon Tuesday 31st July 2007.

Don't the lorry drivers come under the Network bit so are on strike next Wednesday and the following Tuesday. Fridays is teh Internationals and HWDC whatever that is.

When the mail centre put the mail through the machines, when the machine can't read where it's going, us guys at the MDEC see the mailpiece on the screen, and type in what info is needed by the machine to say where it's going.

As for HWDC, it stands for Heathrow Worldwide Distribution Centre. It's all the air mail going abroad, and all the air mail arriving from abroad.
