D2D into measured workload.

Post by weasel »

How come D2D into measured workload starts week commencing 7 June 2010 when the agreement states that " this move into workload will require delivery duties to be be adjusted and allowances to be made in order to provide sufficient time to prep the items and deliver them". In my delivery office we have had no agreed "Delivery Revision Process" but we just have to "suck it up" Is this what we can expect now that 66% of you rolled over and gave Royal Mail Management carte blanche to disregard the agreement?

Is the lack of response on this topic because nobody bothered to read the agreement. Its on Page 20. I personally cannot believe anybody in their right mind would even consider start delivering the extra D2D for nothing when none of the other agreements have been put in place. So really and truly all that has happened at the moment is that PT's have taken a big pay cut, is that correct??

Is there anybody out there??

Did you expect RM to implement revisions over 10 minutes or so a day on most duties? They are trying there luck to see if it can be absorbed within existing time. Remember, RM haven't gained a thing from the D2D yet. They are paying the same out, but distributed differently.
They are desperate to increase the amount of D2D in all areas. I suspect revisions will be on the cards if and when they increase across the board, especially if people are genuinely having trouble completing with the extra D2D. If people just run around, come in earlier to absorb it or just go over for a "quiet life", then no revisions will be needed.

There are constant "Get your leaflets delivered FREE by RM" adverts on the radio near us.

I would expect RM to adhere to the agreement which states that D2D will be incorporated into measured workload, which will require delivery duties to be adjusted and allowances to be made in order to provide sufficient time to prep the items and deliver them.

If RM adhere to this policy which has been agreed there would be no need for people to come in early and "run around" to get it done.

Where have you been working for the last few years? If the duties were realistic and achievable, the running, car driving early bird no breakers would be in heaven as always, because they could chase time out of the job.

I have read this response and must admit that I don't understand it, it doesn't seem to written in English. Translate for me please, "the running, car driving, early bird, no breakers, chase time out of the job. What does this mean?
Where have I been working for the last few years? It seems that I have been carrying bludgers,

i can see his point tho,if some of the flyers in the office can save a bit of time, then they will, its what the management want/are banking on,changing long held ways of doing things will always be met with a negative reaction, just carry on as normal attitude. It will need a nationwide revision (but that will not happen because of what i have just posted)
Some just can't see that flying around your walk will not get you anywhere in the long run..........like the fella who voted YES "cos its a pay rise innit" in my D.O
I dunno,some people...........

I totally agree, but the problem in a lot of offices, and im a rep, are that members are their own worst enemy. A quick check round the office most of them had completed their new mail traffic by tuesday. This is now extra workload which added to absorption, should in all probability cause problems later in the week.In most cases managers know they dont have to adjust duties because members are finishing too early. The next problem is the few who actually are still doing the job properly, who stuggle to finish on time, are then being accused of going too slow and it has to be a performance issue.A lot of my members did not do their own D2D because their walks are too heavy, so this week has come as a big shock.
