it appears to me royal mail think they r big brother cos every move u make they r following u n watching u!!! in fact a manager sent me a letter on tuesday saying that he did not want to see me using my mobile fone on floor, n my girlfriend is pregnant at the moment so i need to answer it if she calls.... no more than 2-3mins later he walked past me on his mobile fone... who r they accountable to?? obviously no one

The question"Who are managers accountable to"has been a source of anger for me also.I constantly see managers not doing there job properly and getting away with it,where if it were us we would get suspended probably.Because of this managers are running round like little Hitlers knowing they are untouchable.Something needs to be done and quick.

gone tell your girlfriend to ring the phone in the managers office if she needs to speak to you while you are indoors - if they don't want you on your mobile see how they like it if you use their phone every time she needs you 2 or 3 times a morning and they soon won't mind you using your mobile

I might shock you here but I tend to agree - when its busy.

We have had occasion when IPS was rammed and one of the lads spent 10 minutes on the phone, and it was with his bookie .

There are occasions when I think people should be allowed to answer a phone and partner being pregnant is one, as is being a sole carer or parent. But when others are working and your just chatting with no purpose . Leave that till your break or others are not relying on your help.

However, its also not up to us to manage it, leave that to the "Supervisors"

Agreed, Certain PHG in our office talks on her phone at the expense of customers, it gives our office the impression of being lazy which most of the walkmen aren't. Common sense should prevail here, if its the occasional quick call, there shouldn't be an issue, its just the piss takers who do it all the time, Not fair on those who graft.
