Just read on the New Statesman site that Diane Abbott has managed to get the neccessary 33 nominations to run for leader of the Labour Party. Ok, she's not John McDonnell (and yeah, she sent her kids to a private school) but what the heck. Two cheers. She's sorta leftish. Never was in government. Career rebel/professional gadfly.
If we CWU members get the chance, we should vote for her in the upcoming ballot. We could do worse.

Don't need to join the Labour Party.belle wrote:join the labour party before september 8th and you will get a chance to vote for her
If you pay the CWU Political Levy you will get a vote, though it's worth less than a LP members vote, and a
lot less than a Labour MP/MEP's vote.
