Offered a job with RM with the illusion that it will lead to full time work, treated with contempt by RM, ignored by the union and their colleagues (let's not mention the 'winners and losers part of the agreement), given the worst duties. Well the P/T staff in my office start at the same time as the F/T staff, so we lose the ESA as well.
The only thing F/T do more is the first wave of mail while the P/T go stright to their frame and Prep !.
So now can we finally stop all the Bitching about each other as it differs from office to office and is obviously causing
a rift between us all that will only serve to help RM impose more cuts by playing one against the other.
we are all in this together for better or worse and will have enough on our plates fighting the s**t thats going come in the very near future.

Agreed most of them would but they applied for a part-time position so that in itself is no reason to complain.

I know this used to happen where you were told at the interview you would be full-time in a matter of weeks but i'm not sure it's still the case.

No lets not,i've yet to find a real winner other than RM and the boys at the top of the CWU.

Spot on mate But lets not forget that most part timers dont stick around long anyway once a full time job is on offer elsewhere.

One thing the part timers never mention much is how much more time they have off each week compared to us full timers that is of course unless they choose to work overtime.

yes badly done to pt , 31 hrs in our are suppose to start at 7.50 there in at 7.00 no extra pay , when they are bagged up the dom is asking ft to prep rounds , while there stood at the rle waiting for specials to go out and never get asked to do any extra.

wow apart from geezer i seem to have stumbled upon f/t staff who are obviously a superior breed who all joined as f/t and were never p/t, get a grip this is the reason rm and the cwu got away with the biggest con in rm history, why because like all good conmen they have to distract the victims and what better way than getting f/t and p/t at each others throats, i have in the past pointed out the unfairness to p/t staff and wont go into that again, but if anyone still wants to continue the f/t p/t argument please stop licking the windows on busses

I was part time for a few months - and didn't keep moaning about it, that was the hours I applied for - until I applied for a full time walk nobody else wanted - and now I don't moan that it's a long walk in a rough area because that's what I applied for

Spillie at no point does my post infer that full-time staff are superior to part-time.
I suggest you take a minute to re-read it.
It's exactly this reading what you want into posts that causes the ill-feeling.
And BTW i have done a good few years as a part-timer as well so at least i have experienced both sides.

You cannot complain about being part-time if you apply for a part-time position.
If you were lied to at the interview and given false promises of a full-time job then that is a different story.

i started on 31 hrs and was for 2yrs no pressure , asked to go full time and did , i have actually asked to sell back to 31hrs been refused twice .

Never seen anything like it today, going round frames ,counting how many drops they had today compared to others etc , how much theyre losing out on compared to FT staff , blah blah blah, never heard anything like it

Here`s the facts - Part time get about £13.50 for pro -rata, thats it, Im FT and I get £20.60 , but lose my early shift of £12.00, so I get £8.00, so I get £5.50 less, and have to work early hours whilst there asleep and im prepping their round for them . Now hows that fair ??

its ok if you can work full time us part timers have to live on around 180 pound a week, i would like to see you do that
