Has this changed? "Meal breaks attendance length."

With so many new rules on how we are to do the job, indoor work tools, revision tools, Call Rate Conversion tools, Agreed D2D Guidelines, New Pouch Weight Standard ''' etc etc

Amongst all this has the meal break attendance pattern been altered?


Does this pattern of meal break still stand?

I haven't seen anything that would suggest any change to overall meal relief times.I would say the guide posted by postman was still correct

Nowt changed in my office they still dont take the meal breaks, Still come in early still rush around and still think overtime should be in duty time and still think nothing is going to change.

Well lets put it this way the manager would have you believe that RM are only obliged to apply the legal break requirements as dictated by UK employment acts, not any agreements made between the CWU and RM itself. Part timers on 4 hour contracts are not then entitled to any break.

I would suggest your manager is talking rubbish and if you or anybody else in your office feel agrieved by this managers stance their are options and procedures for you to follow IF you so wish

Well lets put it this way the manager would have you believe that RM are only obliged to apply the legal break requirements as dictated by UK employment acts, not any agreements made between the CWU and RM itself. Part timers on 4 hour contracts are not then entitled to any break.

As our individual employment contracts all mention a "collective agreements" clause then I would have though his failure to implement or meet any such collective agreement on breaks means he s leaving himself open to legal action on failing to honour a contract of employment.

Would be nice if anyone with experience in employment law could clarify the legal position.

I think that is one of the reasons why managers get accused of bullying. I have heard the two words bullying and mangers quite alot.

One more question regarding a part timer on 20 hours (4 hours a day) is the 20 minutes agreed break part of the 4 hours or ontop of the 4 hours?
i.e. 4 hours work plus 20 mins break, or 4 hours including the 20 mins?

included - as it is for 30 hour PT in for 6 hours and FT in for 8 hours.
