Clarification on new D2D material?
I'm hearing conflicting reports on how the D2D material will be presented from June 7th onwards. Some say it will be in the same format as it is currently ie separate leaflets, while others are saying all the material will be incorporated into a single article per address ie an envelope. Anyone know for certain which one it is? The envelope theory sounds like wishfull thinking to me, I can't help but think that it seems too logical for it to make sense to the people who matter.

Our stuff was laying there this morning waiting to go to the frames. Same as it always was! 4, I assume 4. You will get your D2D's exactly the same way as you do now,whether it is 3,4 or 5.
When it gets to 6 then the automation (in the sleeves)is supposed to start.

Why does the word "supposed" not fill me with a great deal of confidence? So there is going to be up to 10 leaflets between each divider on our frames (when two addresses share a slot), combined with letters and magazines, for the forseeable future? That is just going to increase prepping time and will be a nightmare for missorts. btw...we too have been told no extra time will be allowed for prep. Lapsing is still to be done over the next two weeks as well.
What a con. Did the CWU really think RM would be fair on this?

Wasn't the agreement supposed to introduce everything else along a increase in D2D???? If so, people should refuse to do a 4th d2d.

What if a client was to pay a premium to not have their D2Ds put in a sleeve with others - could you then have say 6 (or more)in a sleeve PLUS separate loose contracts in the same week?

Its a aspiration at the moment , nothing more nothing less. A lot of work wil need to go into turning that aspiration into a viable everyday working reality.
In terms of DTD still being automated if numbers drop below 6, I would say logic demands a yes to that question as duties will be planned on the basis of automated prep of DTD and the manual element being one item to sort per delivery point.
