what size of parcel would you say a postman on a walk should not be taking as i seem to be taking some pretty big parcels.

there is a template that should be used on contentious case but me and my driver use our common sense and it works well. Sometimes on quiet days I take oversize and on bust days they will take undersized ones if I am struggling.

All depends on who your driver is some will take ALMOST anything others will take nothing at all, I have this problem on a daily basis, what with more d2d's the drivers should be taking more oarcels in my opinion as they seem to ALWAYS finish before me.

from my experience its quite an eye opener for those drivers who spent their time batting back packets

The template went missing as soon as it arrived in our office. The drivers take what they feel like usually.... which is very little after all how the hell would they get the time to sit in thier vans and read the paper if they actually did what they were supposed to?

I was told by my work place coach on day one that it's "shoe box size" now that can vary from Tinkerbell shoes to Prop forward size 11 ? I like to throw out as much as I can then bargain down. Flutter eyelashes and pout, works every time

If a driver hands back a packet I just ask one simple question:
If I hit you in the nuts with that packet will it hurt?

If the answer is yes - then it is a driver's packet.
If the answer is no we "try it out in a live environment"

Nothing bigger than a match box if i can help it! Seriously though, cant wait to see the faces of drivers in our office when they have to take out a delivery aswell as packets.....just about manage bag drops!

take as many large packets as possible, meet driver every 200 yards if needs be, cut off or claim if delayed due to waiting. Inevitably drivers will stop being arses when you stop them from an early finish and Dom wants reasons for extra expense or failure due to cut off's.

why would you be meeting the driver?

Anything I can't manage I put in a York and it disappears. I often don't know who the driver is, so don't know if they whinge or not. Something around 4x5x10 I wouldn't take, unless I knew I could get rid of it, a shop for example. I'd leave smaller than that if i have a few in the same bag. It's not just about the size, but the amount as well. If I had room in my bag and I knew there would be someone in, I'd take a shoe box. Normally, if my bags pretty full, I wouldn't take half a shoe box, and I'd never split my bags to allow more packets.

why would you be meeting the driver?

pouch weight limits etc , hct and walking delivery without available pouch boxes , need to be met with next pouch
