Managers doing opg work everyday

In Belfast managers are doin a lot of the work each day that is due to be done by opg's.. R manager in particular sets up 2 walks a day from 6-9am during ips also.. many of us have asked the cwu rep to deal with this but over the last 2 years they point blank refuse to deal with this??? Wot can we do to make the reps address this fully as it's putting a lot of us under pressure doing extra lapsing etc, which is only bein completed cos the managers r saving this way.... Also this will lead to more job cuts....

One office I was sent to for a while had this happen .

When the manager TOUCHED a letter someone would shout out " RIGHT LADS EVERYTHING DOWN " and everyone would stop what they were doing and I mean EVERYONE . It was quite a sight and it worked 100% as the manager then never touched a single thing .

Managers should manage..they should not be doing opg work.
That's just cutting hours from your office...if there is work to be done an opg should be paid for doing it.

Same at my office, LM's prepping walks........shame the lazy gits don't go out and deliver it aswell because then they might have some sympathy for us, instead of telling us we've got it easy!

They released the 2010 agreement and formalised the arangement

If managers are doing work that is normally done by OPG grade then they are not doing work that they should be doing themselves,it also means that you do not have enough duties in place so if there is to much work then they should be manageing to resolve that issue,not working because all that is doing is covering up what is a major problem,they have cut far to many hours from offices to reduce postal staff where as the total number of managers have increased.

FFS our managers spend all morning on IPS then prepping, they have told me that this is because we don't have enough staff and if they don't then we'd fail everyday.

I have worked in a few offices, and it always baffles me that DOM's spend most of their day setting in boards and stacking trays into yorks.. The work they seem to be doing is a lesser job than the postie is doing!!

Our manager sorts mail,gets missorts ready,throws walks off and even takes bits out sometimes.Now and then runs people up and drops bags off.
He must be under real pressure to make everything look like its running smoothly.
It isn't like but...:)
Glad ofthe help but i'd rather see someone made up to full time.

You and your office can do it if you want.

If managers HAVE to do OPG's work there is something wrong in your office.

I have noticed a big increase in managers doing opg work SINCE they have been getting their large bonuses. There is real panic on their faces if they cannot cover a duty or absorbtion
