DO staff shouldn't laugh at MC closures as MC closures mean that many DOs will get their work later as the MC that serves them will be further away so your start times will probably get made later.

To be completely honest I dont think anybody is laughing....But we have ended up with this s^^t.

where did see this i have many friends that work in the m/c im talking about the vote and yes i would strike again to try stop this

Why ask now its to late anyway, what gets me is why mc should vote on d2d and do's vote on mc closures, think rm got what they wanted split the union

In my opinion the idiots voted yes and the cowards didn't vote at all.
And they work in both the Delivery offices and the Mail Centres.

This is the only way RM could get the YES vote!!! Mail centre staff are laughing now with their extra £20 a week. The laughing wont last long as when privatisation comes in there is going to be a huge mail centre cull...

What £20 a week?

I work in a mailcentre and I voted NO as did very many of my colleagues.

Our mailcentre is closing in a couple of weeks, after 18mths of s**t, lies, and back stabbing from all sides.

I don't think anybody is, or has any right to be laughing, this is just the start. The North West m/c network is being burnt to the ground and soon every other region will suffer, and don't think it will stop at m/centres, if they can amalgamate DOs they will.

Johnny Rad,Incase you hadn't noticed mate,there is already a Mail Centre cull going on. Royal Mail doesn't need to be privatised to do this. We were told today that we will shortly know what Mail Centres will be shut in London.

They might merge some DOs into old MC sites to create "Super DOs". Wouldn't surprise me if they make start times at DOs even later as many won't get their work so early.

Residential 3pm last letter and 4pm rural in the new agreement. Make the mail come in as late as they want.

I voted No. My MC only got the 2% pay increase which everyone got.
We knew there were going to be MC closures, whether RM is privatised or not.
As for the vote, the only way RM could get a YES vote was if the majority of Delivery staff voted for it.

If it's any consulation to anyone then NI is not losing any MCs

of course we only have the one so unless they're planning on bringing the mail over from Scotland then I think that's the way it'll stay.
They have mentioned in the past about making Super DOs so it will onlybe a matter of time before they make them.
All this blaming each other for voting this agreement in is just making RMsjob easier by splitting us up.

Why would Processing have voted yes?

We knew that it would lead to mass closures, Degridation of our working conditions (although it's still not as bad as Deliveries yet), etc., etc.. Just how stupid do you think we are?!?
