Helping Coverman with Saturday D2Ds

Don't know if anyone else is doing this, but it seems unfair to me that the poor old coverman is going to get lumbered every Saturday with D2Ds while we have the option of getting rid of them before, So I've got an agreement with mine that he takes out extra on his day (I have 602 houses on my walk) which is 120 and does the same one's every week except when it's my long weekend then I do them all. At least thats giving him 1 free Saturday.

Doing 1/6 every single day, no matter who you are or what day it is, seems fair to me, why do any different? I can maybe understand wanting to finish a little earlier as its a saturday, but this has implications. Suppose you go over on the day you do some extra door to doors, won't that give the DOM an excuse not to pay overtime?

I don't understand this one, each section (1/6th) will be set out for each day and as such everyone will do the same amount.

If you're talking about 'day-specific' D2Ds then they will just have to do them (everyone who's not off that Saturday will have to do them whether a floater of duty holder).

I dont think dblad's got his round D2Ds will be six days a week! 602 delivery points = 100 per day not 120
But he's more than welcome to help me out with mine next week. Sounds like a nice chap

what dblad said was so as his floater never has to deliver any d2d for him on a saturday, the floater will take out 120 on his day during the week, which is more than his fair share but may work in his favour for saturdays,

the rule of 1/6 per day is not written hard and fast anywhere, it clearly states on the d2d guidance issued that local agreements are allowed if not even encouraged

Sorry I thought I'd explained it properly, if my cover does 120 on my day off over the mon to fri this equals 600 over 5 days, so when it's my long weekend I will deliver all D2Ds leaving him a free Saturday, If not then he will be doing them every Sat, at least I'm trying to help him.

My coverman hasn't done any D2D`s in six years(and he gets off without doing lapsing as well)so he can damn well do the shitty bit on my walk from now on, after Dingo`s and co`s deal of the century EVERYBODY gets paid for doing them.

If people start screwing around with it the next thing you know it's in the back of your car and your making it up at home or coming in early on the monday and making the whole feckin lot up.

I went around my 5 cover duties today and agreed with each postie which bit they wanted me to do. Rather than have any sort of rotation I'm just going to do the same bit of each walk every week to keep things simple. Heard another floater going ballistic though as at least 3 of his posties are giving him the worst parts which does seem a bit unfair, even if he is a nobend!

i can see some major shafting by some of my collegues with ref. to 1/6th D2D on their rest day,unless it is standard LtoR,top to bottom in sequence across all frames in the office,also prepping after all the mail is in is a stupid idea,but,it will be time consuming,less time on delivery or more time with a lino on your back whilst prepping?
people getting their knickers in a twist,work to your time ,end of.....................dados

I am going left to right on my frame, so every week the same amount is done on the same day, Saturdays section is mainly businesses so wont have many to deliver.
