been told today by the rep the dom and the health and safety joker we have to take 20 mins break before we go out its the law is it? anyone

yep perfectly true. you must have a 20 minute break for 5 hours work. EU H. and S. Just remember if it wasn't for the EU Maggie would have made you back into a serf

Your 318 will confirm that you are meant to be take a meal relief before you start delivery. My office doesnt really enforce it unless the lino is being a prick.

we have been told we have to take it and we will not be allowed to leave the office untill 9.50 that will mean they got us outside for an extra 20 mins on delivery
can I choose not to take my break?

how does it mean they will gain 20 mins? If you have it before you leave then your finish time will be -20 minutes instead of -40 minutes. Doesnt really alter the delivery span, just changes the finish times.

The question isn't can you but why wouldn't you want to take your break?

To allow you to take a break before the physical exertion of delivery

He's prob one of those out there that runs around to get an early finish. Take your break pal your entitled to it.

What are your hours and why do you have a problem leaving the D.O when you are supposed to?
Do you normally take meal relief at a different time of day?

No, it is Royal Mails responsibility to provide the meal break and your responibility to take it.
I have never on this forum heard of RM refusing members a meal break.

soon to be 6.30 till 2.30 and I want to take my break when I feel I need to ie when tired I will have been out of bed for aprox 2.30hrs when I take half my alloted relief
