EVR allocation

Post by viking »

Has anyone been offered EVR recently in any offices. What were you told? In our office over the last year or so we have been asked by our dom who amongst us would be interested in evr, but that was as far as it went. In the last few months and especially when the agreement was passed we have been asked again and was told that the agreement stated that steps would be put in place to assist anyone who wanted to leave the business voluntarily. Once again the usual group of volunteers put their names down and it all seemed to be "going through" when now out of the blue the dom has once again turned round and said that it will cost too much, and that it has to pay for itself within the next two years. Our union rep is pleased with this as he wants to boast that he has managed to keep all "his" full time workers!! He doesnt seem to realise that some of us actually have had enough and are totally knackered and would like to leave. What are the guidelines on costing and evrs from RM point of view...or are we being once again let down by our union who are blinkered as to what their union members actually want. Any info much appreciated as no one will give us any answers.

Depending on office and current staffing levels it was explained to me that if there are current vacancies within the office then
it is not policy to use EVR and until further notice this is the current situation.

Similar thing in my office and nearby offices.
Told when the new vans arrive and the walk sequsing revision, thats when all the changes will take place .Nobody has any idea when this will be, as been put off at least twice so far and now likley to be next year.

Many people are unhappy and would like Evr or reduction in hours via buy down.
What concerns me is Privatisation may only offer Gov min redundancy, and do away with buy downs.

Also if we have to start later before the new vans come.
Does any one have a clue what RM are doing,it apperas they are reluctant now to bring in all the proposed changes.

We are having another EVR/VR trawl in my MC at the moment. Seems to happen every year, but
they are probably running out of people who want to leave by now.
Those who express an interest are being given a computer printout with figures, and if you are
still interested you get a formal offer in writing. I'm told you then only have two days to decide if you
want to accept it or not - previously you were given two weeks.

 Problem is, quite often those who apply, and fulfill all the qualifying etc on age grounds and such, often still get bypassed!! I only know this because for at least 6 years now, every time they bring this out I have almost begged for it, and even written to head office, and i'm still here, even at my advanced age! so do not hold out hope. they will carry on reducing the numbers by sackings etc first, ant if you are lucky, only 1 or 2 folks witll get EVR.

A few been offered in our office but the dom didn't have the right to offer them without consulting the union first, so at the moment its in limbo. Not very fair on these fellas building their hopes up, just to have them dashed, mind you when have RM ever played fair? :no no
