Well, seeing as there's a few posties out there nicking stuff and getting us all branded thieves, I hope we don't all now come under suspicion of being child molesters too!

I had a kid (rather annoyingly) following me last week. I say rather annoyingly because he was following me into the gardens and standing behind me on the steps so I had to watch where he was so neither of us went flying and wait for him to make his way out the garden so I could close the gate again.

I KNOW I'm not a paedophile, yet I was feeling very nervous about this child following me. I had visions of the parent coming out and having a go at me about it.

I do a lot of voluntary work, some of which involves working with children, and we've had it drummed into us about making sure we're not alone with the children etc (child safety and to protect us from false allegations and stuff).

It's a sad state of affairs when people now think twice about approaching a child who is crying in case they get accused of anything. Even worse if you're a bloke I'd imagine.

The worst I had happened a few years ago whilst driving to work at about 4.30am and saw a young lass, couldnt have been more than 10yrs old, walking along alone, although I was wary of doing it I got her into the car and called the police who came straight away . Turned out her dad was a pisshead who didn't mind giving his missus a good shoeing wheneer the mood took him, and the young'un had got up and tried to runaway. As for this postie in cornwall should have his bollocks cut off and shoved down his throat the dirty b*****d

up till now most parents have positively welcomed my arrival. look theres the postman i hear them saying to their tots.
and their still singing the postman pat song as i go out the gate!
customers exhibit a huge amount of trust in me
eg "that shed its never locked"if you have a parcel or put in my greenhouse.etc.
sad day in deed when little johnny is told don't talk to postmen.

Just stop giving them a lift in the van and buying them ice creams and you should be okay.
