Need a little advice...

Post by BB brother »

Hello all.
Just after a bit of advice.
Its possible that a postie in our area could be facing a formal charge under the Conduct Code ( vague i know but thats all iv got at the mo ) because while performin part of thier duty at another office a Trojan ( I.B. testing security) was stood in the yard and followed him in unchallenged through a door.As far as i know the postie has had no specific training on challenging strangers on RM property.
Fact finding due.
Any advice ?

Sorry to be a little flipant but the truth is if he is FT anything is possible under conduct code

Just hope he has a decent Dom (there are a few left)and good union rep,but he also needs to ask for copy of conduct code for himself and he needs to read it and understand the procedures involved and they are followed correctly
This ain't no baseball game, you get only one chance and you blew it.

 Hmm-has this chap ever been advised he has to challenge strangers? This is one area that has not been covered in our contracts, and therefore we shouldn't be obliged to do it! Ask your boss where in the conduct goes it says you must challenge strangers.

I think if its your own office arguable you might be expected to spot a stranger.
if its not his office as i think you said.
your unlikly to know everybody in the office.
how are you supposed to know the cleaner from the vending machine filler?

Play dumd,dumber,dumbest.

Dumb...You thought someone else had challenged him.
Dumber..You didn't know you had to challenge him.
Dumbest...You didn't see him.

Pick the one that best fits the situation and stick to it.
Number 3 worked for me a couple of weeks ago. Because obviously i didn't see him. :angel

You could claim you thought he was armed. (when you didn't see him)
Why should you put your life in danger?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
