Delivery update

Bob Gibson at conference today gave an update on the current situation in deliveries.

1. No office will have a revison without the revison workshop taking place

2. The Menu of options has now been agreed and will be sent out next week.

3. A lot of progress has been made on the indoor workload tool , geo route 2008 , the delivery span indicator and other planning issues and some will now be tested in a live enviorment

4. Agreement on when SPDOs who will not have walk sequencing on when they get the lump sums.

5. Door to Door supplement starts next week , Royal Mail have been disappointed with the level of Door to Door contracts they have managed to sercure from next week. Some offices will get 4 but no where near the level they had hoped. Royal Mail have now agreed in principle of how an office puts door to door into workload , there is an interim postion and then when you have a revison how you used the perfomance tools to put it into workload.

6. The timescales for next week are challenging to say the least and I do believe their will be problems.

But the supplement will start next week.

Well does that mean we will be banning the use of private cars from next week,and the 39hour week kicks in??

Or are we going to allow them to pick what bits of the agreement to bring in as and when they want?

Not to mention tools for the job

Are we going with the new agreement when suits them and back to the old when doesnt?

ie you will lose 20 odd quid a week d2d but carry on with the lapsing from last agreement

we've just started summer lapsing in my office, 2 weeks earlier than last year, and in a weeks time will be staring the d2d into workload idea. so how do we implement the d2d into workload when we're not getting walk sequencing until november 2011? monday, tuesday and saturday we can just about handle the summer lapsing-wednesday, thursday, friday not a chance.how do we handle extra d2d (we are in one of the best areas for d2d so are expecting increase asap, LA postcode), do summer lapsing and make sure d2d and normal traffic is delivered. don't get me wrong i want royal mail to have a future but how an earth do we lapse in summer, take on extra d2d and still deliver in our duty spans????????

we've been lapsing in our office since January.......every day regardless. the DOM's answer is 'if you go over just claim it'................surely that defeats the object!!!!
