D2D on 7th June - what preparations in your office?

What preparations have taken place in your office (if any)?

None - just managers scratching their heads (or walking off) when asked, I suppose they're too busy with IPS, prep and delivery these days

got told by the manager the supplement start on the 7th but with no increase above 3 d2d until revision

yes with all the reduction in mail like my 1170 items not inc d2d today
finish time 15.30 due to splitting over weight bags in front of lm
he says i only bother with h/s when it suits is that not what guidlines are for like when somethings not right

Unless dingo is a little "tired" D-day for D2D may have just moved.....

Bob Gibson at conference today gave an update on the current situation in deliveries.

1. No office will have a revison without the revison workshop taking place

2. The Menu of options has now been agreed and will be sent out next week.

3. A lot of progress has been made on the indoor workload tool , geo route 2008 , the delivery span indicator and other planning issues and some will now be tested in a live enviorment

4. Agreement on when SPDOs who will not have walk sequencing on when they get the lump sums.

5. Door to Door supplement starts next week , Royal Mail have been disappointed with the level of Door to Door contracts they have managed to sercure from next week. Some offices will get 4 but no where near the level they had hoped. Royal Mail have now agreed in principle of how an office puts door to door into workload , there is an interim postion and then when you have a revison how you used the perfomance tools to put it into workload.

6. The timescales for next week are challenging to say the least and I do believe their will be problems.

But the supplement will start next week.

None in our office. Got told D2D will be more professionally presented!!!! What??? Asked if management will sort out the 1/6 daily for each walk. Met with blank stares. So what is the relief supposed to do? 1/6th came the reply. But which bit says i, as they wont know what has been done. Ummmmmm.... comes the reply. Mangement could not organise a piss up in a brewery even if you paid for the taxi to get them there. (probably know how to claim it on expenses though).

When our managers were asked what time has been allowed for the inclusion of D2D into workload - there was a gallic shrug of the shoulders, but still the preparation for the revision takes place without any input and what else did we expect really.

We had a WTL session on Wed where the manager showed us pretty pie charts, with cost cutting figures regarding the revision, but no actual information on the way forward or implementation of the changes. When i asked about the D2D situation from the 7th June, she said she had only found out about that the day before. She didn't have any info on how it was going to be incorporated into workload, other than the frames would be colour coded for each days section of D2ds. Nothing at all has been done as yet, with a fortnight to go.
Thats RM all over though, big plans, and no organisation what so ever.
