xmas catalogues!

We had some Studio xmas catalogues in today. They had a sticker on them saying deliver within 4 days. I ask the manager does this mean we can take them where we are going and he says " no they all have to go today because tuesday is easy"!!
Whats the point of them having that sticker on them then!!
Any one else get the same problem with having to deliver stuff the same day it turns up regardless of the stickers saying other wise?
Had same trouble with the sky mags that turned up last week...its not june 1st for another week ffs!!!

No i would not do that as your leaving yourself wide open for wilful delay. I think they were DSA

The bottom line is that if your able to complete without cutting then you have to take them if instructed. Its a bummer when it blows the odd light Tue's but what can you do. Our doms pushed out Sky mags last sat saying they were late in and had to go but weve had a load more this week

We must have a good DOM then, ours lets us take them over a few days and never says anything if we leave some under our frames.

I always take everything that day (unless it's small letters for EVERY house in which case I'll use the allocated time) as you can guarantee if you don't take them, some other shite will come in the day after and that'll have to go that day too and you end up with a reet pants workload.

I was just more incredulous that I was delivering stuff for xmas 2010 on the 24th May... MAY!!! Jeeeez...

Ditto. I usually tend to try and take everything the day we get it. As you say, we will probably get stung with more stuff to deliver. I think I am due more Sky mags still as I dont think I have had my full quota. Was expecting them today actually, but none appeared.

I handed one over to an old guy on my round and he made a little joke along the lines of 'usual crap is it today?!' He started laughing when he didnt believe me when I told him a xmas catalogue and told him to turn it over to the face with the santa hat

Yep all those STUDIO catalogues I delivered, I can just imagien all those that got them sitting down to orfer their Xmas cards and presents this Bank Holiday weekend, and we all know it wont be the last of them.

I took all my studio cats today when I seen Sky mags coming in. I deliver to a non cabled area, which houses a lot of the medical profession. So end up with Sky, BMJ, Nursing Union and NHS wage slips all in the same week. Studio just added to the weight. But at least they are out the way until the next lot come in

I remember last xmas (vaguely, I must admit, but that's nothing to do with work!), they were advertising for xmas 2010 on tv about 3 days after xmas 2009...
