SPDO closure - MTSF?

My SPDO is 16 miles from main DO. If it closes ( rumours abound ) half the staff want evr rather than work from sweatshop main DO.
If my wife wants the car , I cycle to work but not 16 miles ( no early bus ). Are we entitled to mtsf or can management tell us to move office and claim travel allowance ? Thanks - my first posting - excellent forum.

"rumours abound" about the innmminent closure of nearly all the thousand or so remaining SPDOs, but most still amble along as if they were only just entering the twentieth century.

Under the new MTSF you will be covered in a sliding scale for up to 5 years if you relocate to another site. RM have obligation to find you another alternative job but remember if you refuse they could say that they have met their legal obligation.

Thanks for your reply pcb - is " Lounge Lizard " a back biting manager ? if not , postman like that undermine our efforts to be treated fairly - perhaps he is bitter because he has spoilt the job for others .

No, nothing other than a humble postman during my time with Royal Mail, no more bitter than most of my colleagues, and as for "spoilt the job for others" I've no idea what you mean having never used a car or otherwise not done the job properly. - all of which you would probably have realised had you been on this site a bit longer or perused a few more of my occasional comments on this forum.
