Post by POSTMAN »

Been delivering both of theses in the last week or so and also the letters as well advertising their +HD boxes.

Join them and you get them free blah blah blah,so i got the hump and phone Virgin and told them i was leaving (lied)to got to Sky so i could get a free +HD box,as they hadn't sent me anything on them.

They said i was entitled to a free box, free installation the works. :nana

Moral of this story, well 2 morals,1:ya don't ask ya don't get and 2:D2D works. :dance

No D2D's for me this week  I've told Sky to shove it and I'm going back to BT, my new BT router arriving tracked tomorrow.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Way ahead of you Postman, we don't pay (usually) for anything from Sky, we just threaten to leave and they usually give us free boxes or free installation.

You will live to regret it, esepcially if you have kids who play x box live.

The help line is in Delhi, they run you through a script if anything goes wrong.

IE:
Last week they connected my boys X box, but disconnected every other PC at the same time, it took three hours on the phone to get reconnected, they even wanted me to do a full virus scan, delete all my cookies, do updates to software and install IE 10 or whatever it is, despite me telling them it was all working fine until they cocked it up assigning all my ports to my sons X Box.

My eldest son came home, logged into my account on BT and sorted it all in five minutes while I was still talking to Delhi !!

Oh and if you've signed up for unlimited Broadband... it's not unlimited....BT have a fair usage policy, so if you exceed your bandwidth they reduce your download speed, which if you also have the BT vision package, it renders it unwatchable.

We've had it 16 months, and I've phoned them more in that time than I did Tesco or Sky in the previous six years.

My advice....don't sign up.... use the get out clause

We are on a 12 month contract but after 6 months want to cancel for because we are moving. Sky have told us we cannot cancel because the contract is for 12 months and there is no early termination. The place we are moving to has talk talk on a bt line and we will need to pay over a £100 to get an engineer to switch it to sky
Apparently our terms and conditions were told to us over the phone and we have no T&C on paper. I would have thought that was wrong.
Anyway, we will suffer the f*cks for another 6 months and then they will get told to ram it up their a*ses and never again will we touch any sky product. I hope they go f*cking bust under the tory tw*ts :evil/mad

Rant over

Sorry you lost me with the Xbox bit. Our lads Xbox just connects via the wireless Bt hub I just entered the wep key and off it went. Simples. :Very Happy

But hosting Xbox online games spanked all our monthly download credit so we phoned BT to arrange to go unlimited only to find that we had exceeded our 12 month contract by 9 months so could negotiate a new one. Ended up paying the same each month for unlimeted and got a new home hub/phone as well.

Came tracked but our postie did docket it and take it back safe and sound. :Applause
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

I'm on 20MB Virgin and when i do a download test i'm always downloading 19meg.

You can usually always get a good deal from Virgin by calling them up as ure contract is coming to an end. I do this every year, and tell them I'm either going to Sky or can't afford the package :dance

You are however better speaking to the retentions team than customer service team. Well it was like that when I used to work for them

Don't know if you pay by D/D but if you do just cancel it and don't tell sky where your moving to.
