Rotten rubber bands

Post by mailsortdreams »

Hello

Is that the Rotten Rubber Band Co?

Royal Mail here.

Could I order a consignment of 10 million of your very, very rottenest rubber bands please?

Many thanks.

What's wrong with the Cheapo-Pingburst ones we have at the moment?

I'm afraid they're too expensive, we really need to spend less per box in the future (but order more boxes and spend even more) :chuckle

I'm thinking of going old skool and using string because I'm fed up with having bloody great welts on my arms caused by the awesome red bands snapping across my arms every flaming morning when I tie up my round.

Who was that deck jockey tosser of an "expert" in the courier that said the bands we have atm are "fine" and have been thoroughly tested to the highest standards by a panel of bean counting w*****s who've never don't a delivery in their life. Oh btw don't get them wet or exposed to sunlight he said.... . Other than these three :lfo :cfo :mfo you'd be hard pressed to find someone more deserving of a smack in the face than that toolbag

And who was the other idiot who said "if the band snaps, your bundle is too big"?! I had to bundle up a teeny tiny bundle earlier today and it was no more than an inch and a half thick, no flats in it either. Bloody laccy band snapped on me. Luckily it didn't hit me this time. However, a few weeks back, I was walking around with 2 raised red lines on my arms from where elastic bands had snapped on me whilst unbundling the mail for delivery. I don't make large bundles as my lil arms can't cope with it...

Theres more red on my round than pavement :left:
I don't drop any!! Always unbundle over the HCT and put the bands back in to reuse (if they've not already snapped!) If I do see any on the floor, I pick em up and bin em. Don't want animals eating them.

We use bikes, and walk with the bag - not easy hanging on to them , or bending over with an overweight bag on my back to pick up a broken band :left:

If you pull your back bad with that weight bending down you will have a weakness in your back for the rest of your life which in this job leads to longterm back pain.

Quite simple lads & lasses if you want to change something use the system.
If bands break and injure you inform D.O.M. that you have had accident on duty and wish it to be logged
under Health & Safety.
Suggest Royal Mail go for compensation on your behalf with a claim against supplier/manufacturor.
Raise it at WTL sessions, if enough people do.
They might then listen to staff and supply something better.
Then again probably not they will get a spokesman to make a statement and that will solve everything.
I don't think.
Could allways buy your own from say Staples.

I use an HCT and don't carry a bag so therefore, I am able to pick them up. I'm not suggesting everyone does but it would be best if they weren't dropped in the first place. More common sight on the ground than dog poo they are.

Ha Ha, the best thing to do is to go back to the old brown bands, but they are a penny per million dearer.

I really thought that this thread was going to be about music !!!??

Couldn’t help but think of Dumbo;

I saw a peanut stand, heard a rubber band,
I saw a needle that winked its eye.
But I think I will have seen everything
When I see an elephant fly.

Of course ‘seeing an elephant fly’ might be a reference to 2010 and beyond.
