You say that you don't know where you stand. Well mate, if your feet are painful - don't stand, sit down!!

Have you been to see your DOM regarding your absence? Have you been in touch with with ATOS over this?

It sounds like http://www.heelspurs.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; to me, I suffer from it and it's very painful.

Have you a sick cert covering you.
They can't stop your pay if you have a sick cert, end of!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

if you are off on S/L employees will receive full pay up until 6months - if you have been off for long periods of time in the past - this would reduce the present 6month period as i think the 6month period is aggregated.

they can only "stop your pay" if you have not been in contact with the employer or have refused to attend meeting(s)...
so make sure you remain in contact with them...get a go between if you need one e.g union rep.

you should only return to "work" if you are healthy enough to "work".

if the doctor says on the "fit note" that you can work (with certain workplace ajustments) but the doc doesn't recommend you doing your own duty/job, then discuss it with him/her and get him/her to indicate on the fit note what you are able to do when at work - until you are 100% fit.

if doc isn't exactly sure, get referred to atos/occapational therapist who will assess your capabilities-v-the work needs and recommend what you are able to do and how often etc you can do it - e.g, if you sit down and do ips for a couple of hours a day and maybe slowly build it up 3hrs a day - over x amount of weeks, etc, etc
but you need to agree that you are "fit to work" (whatever 'work' means/constitutes)

if the injuries are work related, you should maybe ask your cwu legal and medical rep for an LS3 form
and register the injuries as industrial injuries - with the DWP.

then you will probably need to be assessed by the DWP, depending on how long-term the injuries are...you may be entitled to benefits?
