Do they have to give us Stonehenge day off?

The Pagan Police Association claimed yesterday that it had been recognised by the Home Office as a "diversity staff support association":

Does this mean that if we want to attend Stonehenge on the Winter or Summer solstices, RM are obliged to give us the time off?

I don't think they can refuse to let us have time off to celebrate a religious festival.

If a lot of employees insisted on taking the day off to attend the Summer Solstice, we could force them to make June 21st a bank holiday.

there is no law stating they must let you observe any religious holiday, including christmas, the race descrimination act states that a reasonable effort must be given to employees who wish time off for such events, pretty much similar to rules regarding family friendly, so all they would need to say is we can allow 10% extra staff off on that day but no more and then they would be in the clear
